Cara Golden is a visual artist from San Diego, California. With a background in metalwork and jewelry design, she received a B.A. in Applied Design from SDSU in 2019. Her current body of work (in progress) is a critical study of traditional craft-oriented arts, with an emphasis in utilitarianism and materiality. While this exploration spans many disciplines, her focus has been on incorporating conventional textile techniques into sculptural ceramics and metalwork. Golden’s work has been featured at Mingei International Folk Art Museum and is held in private collections.
